Throughout my life, I have had many relationships that have influenced and shaped me into the person I am today. One of these relationships is with my good friend Gabe Bruner. Gabe is my age and also a senior at my high school. He has not only just been with me through many of the struggles I have gone through, but he has also walked with me through them. I am grateful for Gabe’s role in my life because he continues to encourage me to pursue a relationship with God, and to grow in my relationship with God. Gabe has been a hero in my life for many reasons, for one, he has served as a hero because of his decision to show love to me everyday. No matter what is going on in my life I can be confident that Gabe will be there to help me through it and point me towards God. Another thing that Gabe has done to act as a hero in my life is seen in his dedication to pouring into me day after day. Countless times he has given me spiritual advice and guidance through a difficult situation that has allowed me to make a better informed decision. This has shaped not only my character, but it also influenced me to grow my relationship with Christ.
Another person who has greatly influenced my life growing up is my brother’s dad Ronnie. My parents got divorced when I was around six and a half years old, and my mom got remarried to Ronnie, who served as my father figure in most of my childhood. Ronnie held a very big role in my life, and took the responsibility of raising me in many ways. He developed in me, some very important values and life lessons. Ronnie showed me what it was like to be a hard worker, and he taught me a lot about respecting others. Even though I know it was difficult for him being in the stepfather position, he was very patient with me through that and always desired the best for me. Some of my most special memories from my childhood are of spending time with him, whether we be drawing westerns, watching movies, of building igloos in the snow. I am extremely grateful I have had someone such as Ronnie in my life to raise me, and to put a lasting impression on me that has shaped me into how I am today.
